Kent road rage killer Kenneth Noye has today failed in his latest bid to have his 16-year minimum jail term reduced.

Kenneth Noye was locked up with a mandatory life sentence in 2000 for stabbing 21-year-old Stephen Cameron to death on a slip road at Swanley in 1996.

The 65-year-old, who had denied murder on the grounds of self-defence, previously lost appeals against his conviction in 2001 and 2011.

Now the Court of Appeal has refused him permission to challenge the minimum term he was ordered to serve after a hearing today.

Noye was locked up for killing Mr Cameron, 21, in front of his fiance Danielle Cable, then 17, after the couple got into an argument with Noye at the Swanley interchange.

He fled to Spain, but was extradited in 1999 and sentenced to life at the Old Bailey in April 2000.

Lawyers for Noye argued some of the nine months he spent on remand in Spain awaiting extradition should have been taken off his 16-year minimum jail term.

But three appeal judges - the Lord Chief Justice Lord Judge, Mr Justice Mackay and Mr Justice Sweeney - dismissed Noye's application for leave to appeal.
