Drivers faced huge delays this evening after a motorway pile-up near the Dartford Crossing.
The crash involving two lorries, a truck and two cars happened on the M25 anticlockwise between the tunnel and Thurrock services just after 7am.
One of the lorries shed its load across the carriageway, prompting police to close two of three lanes.
It was fully re-open by midday, but long delays remained into the evening.
Traffic was held intermittently at the crossing to prevent queues in the tunnel.
Meanwhile, there were more delays on the M25 between J4 and J1a anti-clockwise following a separate crash.
A car overturned in the middle of the carriageway, causing long tailbacks before the wrecked vehicle was moved to the hard shoulder.
The crash caused congestion on the A225 Princes Road, A206 Bob Dunn Way, A226 Home Gardens and A2026 Victoria Road.
