A person was hit by a train on a major railway line causing long delays.
The incident happened at about 5pm in Slade Green, near Erith, between London Bridge and Dartford.
The line has since been re-opened but delays and cancellations were expected to continue this evening.
Southeastern said in a statement this afternoon: “A person has been hit by a train between London Bridge and Dartford.
“Whilst the emergency services carry out their work, all lines between these stations will be closed – Disruption is expected until 20:00.
“Due to emergency services dealing with an incident between Slade Green and Woolwich Arsenal, trains are currently unable to run via the Woolwich line.
“Electricity is currently switched off to allow safe access to the railway for the emergency services.”
The firm said in a message to customers the incident has caused major disruption to its services and all trains will be canceled or delayed.
All lines between the stations were closed as the incident was being dealt with, Southeastern said.
But just after 8pm it put out a message saying the line was open again.
A message on X (formerly Twitter) from the company said: : “The #WoolwichLine has now fully re-opened and we can call at all stations again. Delays, alterations and cancellations are still likely.”
British Transport Police has been contacted for comment about the accident.
