Man in hospital after unprovoked assault in Kent Road, Dartford

A young man is in a critical condition after being beaten over the head with a gas canister in an unprovoked street attack, police said.

The 22-year-old was set upon during a night out after being approached by four men in Kent Road, Dartford, at around 3am on Sunday, June 11.

The man is said to have been hit to the back of the head with what was believed to be a gas cannister, police said.

The victim was taken to a London hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Following the incident, officers carried out inquiries and arrested two people, and investigators are now appealing for witnesses to help identify two other suspects.

They have been described as two white men who were both wearing dark tracksuit bottoms.

One man was wearing a dark coloured coat with the hood up and white trainers, and the second man was wearing a black hat with a yellow and red logo, a black jacket and white t-shirt.
