A man from Dartford has been arrested after packages containing prohibited weapons were intercepted as they entered into the UK.

Border Force staff alerted Kent Police after three separate packages were found being imported into the country on March 20, March 23 and April 9.

They were addressed to a man in his 40’s from Dartford who was subsequently arrested on May 10.

As well as being arrested on suspicion of illegally importing prohibited weapons he was further arrested on suspicion on cultivating cannabis.

He has since been released under investigation while police carry out further enquiries.
