Dartford man charged after two men injured in London Road, Swanscombe incident where road was closed and machete found

A man has been charged after an incident where part of a major road was closed and a machete recovered.

Police were called to London Road in Swanscombe at around 1.30pm last Wednesday when a man was treated for serious injuries.

He and a second man were taken to hospital for treatment and a large blade was recovered at the scene.

Four people were arrested in connection with the incident, which saw an air ambulance land nearby, with three of them being bailed.

Earlier today (Aug 20), Ryan Holt, 23, was charged with a public order offence, driving while disqualified, using a vehicle without insurance, possessing a weapon in a public place and attempted wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Holt, of Elm Road, Dartford, was also charged with threatening a person with a blade and dangerous driving.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court today.

Two men, aged 19 and 23, and a woman, aged 18, who were arrested on suspicion of assault, have since been bailed until November pending further investigation.
