Man charged after police cars’ tyres slashed in Home Gardens, Dartford

A suspect has been charged after the tyres on two police cars were slashed while left unattended.

The damage happened in Home Gardens in Dartford at around 10.30pm on October 28.

Last month, police issued an appeal to find a man who could help with their investigations.

On Saturday, officers were on patrol in Attlee Drive when a man drew attention to himself and was subsequently arrested.

Edward Pope, of St Vincent’s Road, Dartford, was charged by investigators from the North Kent Victim Based Crime Team with two counts of criminal damage and using threatening or abusive words or behaviour.

The 36-year-old was bailed to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on February 1.
