A man has been charged with four counts of rape and six counts of other serious sexual assaults on a platform at Swanley station.

Ryan Clifford, 28, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of attacking a 29-year-old woman on Wednesday, September 16.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: "We received a report of a serious sexual assault at Swanley rail station shortly after 10.30pm.

“The assault is believed to have taken place on platform four of the station."

Clifford appeared at Maidstone Magistrates' Court on September 18 and has been remanded in custody. He will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on October 9.
