A man was attacked by a group of more than 12 people during a violent robbery.
The victim, in his 50s, suffered cuts and bruising after he was kicked and punched outside a bookmakers in Dartford High Street.
The attack took place at around 8.30pm on Friday when he was approached by a group of 12 young men, as well as a young woman with a child.
It is reported members of the group demanded he hand over some money and, feeling threatened, he gave them some cash.
The victim was then allegedly punched and fell to the floor where he was kicked.
PC Ben Johnson said: "An investigation is under way into the circumstances and we are urging witnesses or anybody with information to call our appeal line.
"Motorists with dashcam and residents with private CCTV are also asked to check for footage that may assist."
