A man has been taken to hospital following a serious crash on the A2.

The collision, involving two vehicles, happened on the Londonbound carriageway near the Dartford sliproad at 8.07am.

The main carriageway was completely closed while the vehicles were recovered with motorists diverted via the Darenth Interchange roundabout.

Delays stretched back to the Bean Interchange for the Bluewater shopping centre.

The carriageway reopened just after 10.30am.
