Metal pole hurled during assault

A man was left with a "horrific" eye injury after a metal pole was hurled through his car window.

The victim was left needing surgery at a London hospital following the attack in Rochester Way, Dartford.

Police have not released the name of the victim, but say he is aged 20 and from Dartford.

He was struck in the face by a metal pole thrown through the window of the silver-grey Vauxhall Corsa he was travelling in.

The incident happened a month ago, at about 11.45pm on Wednesday, October 1, but police have this week released an appeal for information and witnesses.

Investigators say they have already exhausted a number of leads and hope someone will remember having seen something on that day and come forward.

Det Con Sarah Myers said: "At this time of night it is fairly quiet in Rochester Way but there is a chance someone who was passing saw something which could prove vital to the investigation."

If you have any information which may help, call Det Con Myers at North Kent Police Station on 01474 366098 or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
