A FAMILY'S agonising wait for news about a missing Kent schoolgirl has ended happily. Heather Downs has been found safe and well - two months after she disappeared.
Police received a tip-off that 15-year-old Heather, from Dartford, was staying at an address in the Middlesex area and, after investigating, immediately reunited her with her worried family.
Police officers, together with social services, will now be speaking to the youngster to establish exactly what happened.
She went missing on November 21 from her home in Dartford's Groveherst Road home to buy a school bus pass.
Her father, Mark, 35, said: "We would like to thank everyone who helped in bringing her back home. Over the next few days, we will be helping Heather to settle back into family life and try and get back to normal."
