Substitute Yann Kermorgant struck Charlton’s equaliser at MK Dons on Tuesday night.

He rose to head home a cross from fellow sub Danny Green with 15 minutes of the League 1 clash remaining.

The game finished 1-1 and despite maintaining their unbeaten run in the league the Addicks saw their lead at the top of the table reduced to two points after Preston won at Wycombe.

MK Dons started the match the brighter on home soil and came close early on with efforts from Angelo Balanta and Clinton Morrison.

Their lead came from the penalty spot when Chris Solly brought Dean Lewington down in the box on 21 minutes. Shaun Williams stepped up to give the Dons the lead.

Chris Powell's (pictured) side were much stronger after the break and on 75 minutes Green’s cross was guided home by recently introduced Frenchman Kermorgant, who was steadfastly claiming the goal, despite suggestions home keeper David Martin had the last touch.

The Dons could have still taken the points but Mark Beevers headed wide with the goal at his mercy and Williams shot into the arms of keeper Ben Hamer.
