A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a smash on the A2.

Police closed off the coastbound carriageway of the A2 at Dartford on Friday evening following the collision.

The arterial road was shut off between Dartford, at the junction with the A2018, and the M25 turn-off.

The crash was said to have involved a motorcyclist, who suffered life-threatening injuries.

The incident comes after a series of smashes around the M2 in Kent earlier in the day.
