Speed restrictions will be in place for up to 18 months as resurfacing works begin on roads around Dartford and Gravesham.
Kent County Council says speed limits will be reduced from 40mph to 20mph on 15 roads in the boroughs, due to "carriageway patching, surface treatment and associated preparation, finishing and accommodation works."
The order comes into effect from March 28 for a period of 18 months or until the works have been completed.
KCC says the planned dates on individual roads will be published in advance of the works and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start.
The council also notes the programme is subject to weather and other factors and may therefore change, but adds: "every effort will be made to keep as close as possible to the programmed dates and duration. Change will be notified locally and signposted on site."
