A new walking route has been set up to help people get fit and active after lockdown.
The leisurely stroll starts and finishes at Upper Heath Lane, Dartford Heath and is held at 10am each Tuesday and lasts around 90 minutes.
It is the latest walk and chat scheme in the borough, joining similar events in Central Park, Darenth Country Park, Greenhithe and Swanscombe.
Each walk is part of Walking for Health, a national programme of free, short, accessible and social walks aimed at helping people to get the most out of walking for their physical and mental health.
All are run by One You Kent, a service supported by Dartford council and the Kent Community NHS Foundation Trust to help get people fit and active.
They are described as great for people getting little or no exercise or who are recovering from or suffering from an illness.
Walkers of any age or ability are welcome but are asked to dress for the weather and wear comfortable footwear.
On Tuesday, leader of the council Jeremy Kite joined around a dozen others at the weekly walk on the Heath, which began on July 27.
Cllr Kite said: “These walks are a great way of losing weight and staying fit, while also seeing some of the best natural spots around Dartford.
“I’d encourage anyone to come along and join the walks. They’re a chance to meet new people and stay healthy.”
