Charlton skipper Nicky Bailey has completed his £1.4m move to Championship side Middlesbrough.
The 26-year-old passed a medical at the Riverside Stadium on June 28 but the paperwork, which includes a sell-on clause, was only on Wednesday.
Bailey scored 13 goals last season, but missed the penalty which saw Charlton knocked out of the League 1 play-offs by Swindon in the semi-finals.
He netted 26 goals in 95 appearances in total and was the club’s player-of-the-year for the 2008/09 season when they were relegated from the Championship.
Bailey joined the Addicks from Southend for an initial £350,000 in August 2008. A further £150,000 was paid to the Shrimpers as part of a series of add-ons and they will also receive £225,000 of this transfer through a sell-on clause.
