Elderly residents had been looking forward to meeting some new faces after their care home staff invited people to a "nip and natter" session.
But the residents of Gardenia House in Temple Hill were left disappointed when nobody turned up at all.
Marketing director Davina Sellick said she and staff had sent out posters and leaflets throughout the community inviting people to "Nip in for a natter... We'll provide the cuppa... all we need is your company!"
But she said no one in Dartford took up the offer, and residents were left with their own company and a lot of leftover cake.
"Not one resident turned up," she said. "A local bakery dropped off cakes and we ended up with 23 residents who were hoping to speak to someone.
"There must be people out there. We did leaflet drops to say come along and see us, but nobody came along. We did our best."
And she said the lack of response was particularly surprising considering Gardenia House is at the back of a densely populated housing estate.
"You would think there would be someone around," she added. "It's a real shame. It's the second or third time we've tried to reach out."
The care home still hope to hold another open day in the near future, and are calling on people to make up for this week's poor show.
If you can spare some time email dartford@thekmgroup.co.uk to be part of a future "nip and natter" day.
