No investment in Icelandic banks confirms council

Dartford council has confirmed it has no investment in Icelandic banks.

The borough council says it has no investment in the country's banks or in any of its UK subsidiaries.

It comes as Kent County Council revealed this morning that it has £50 million of its money invested in banks in Iceland.

Dartford council, which says new investment is currently placed in low risk government funds where practical, says it didn't place its money in Iceland on the advice of its advisers.
