A nurse has told how she was sacked for offering to talk to patients about religion, and sharing her Christian faith.
Sarah Kuteh took to YouTube to explain the discussions only arose as it was her job to help patients fill out pre-op assessment forms, which dealt with their religion.
Mrs Kuteh, who is being supported by the Christian Concern organisation, was dismissed after 15 years of nursing.
She worked at the Darent Valley Hospital, in Dartford.
On the clip, Mrs Kuteh said: "My job was to go through questionnaires with patients and an aspect of this is religion.
"There is an aspect in each of these questionnaires where I have to deal with religion and a patient would have to state their religion - or not. This would always bring about the most discussions.
"I discussed my religion with a patient and how I have found Jesus Christ and how much peace I have. Especially when patients have come to me really really devastated sometimes and I have had to reassure them based on the joy and peace I really have found with the Lord."
She told how one day her manager came to see her to say there had been complaints from some patients she had had the chats with.
Mrs Kuteh explained the conversations only happened when the relevant section of the assessments had been covered.
She claims her manager told her to stop doing this, but that she later got guidance it was ok to discuss religion, as long as the person she was looking after brought it up first.
But she says she was then investigated and lost her job in August and is at risk of being made homeless.
She added: "I want to challenge the decision as I believe its a punitive action, and I've had 15 years exemplary nursing.
"How could telling anyone about Jesus Christ really be harmful to any patient?"
In a statement issued this weekend the Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust said it had a duty to patients to ensure they weren't exposed to unsolicited beliefs or views, and that it has acted appropriately throughout the case."
