Overnight closures are expected to affect slip roads on the A282 and A2 for up to 12 weeks, Highways England has announced.
Closures will begin on Friday, September 10, affecting the road leading to the anti-clockwise carriageway of the A282 at Darenth Interchange (M25 Junction 2) (A282/A2); and the road leading to the London-bound carriageway of the A2 at Bean Interchange (A296/B255), including the fast link leading from the southbound carriageway of the B255.
On the other side of the Dartford Crossing the road leading to the clockwise carriageway of the A282 at Purfleet Interchange (M25 Junction 31) will also be closed as part of the same project.
The A282 slip roads will close 10pm to 5.30am Monday to Thursday, then on Fridays from 11pm to 6am, Saturdays from 10pm to 6am; and Sundays from 10.30pm to 5.30am.
The A2 trunk road will be closed from 9pm to 6am every day.
Highways England states the order will come into force on September 8 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when work to replace signs and barriers are complete.
Traffic affected by the closures will be diverted using other junctions on the M25/A282 and by using the A2, A296, B255, the distributor roads between A282 Junctions 1a and 1b, and the fast link connecting the A2 to the A282. The diversion in operation will vary according to the closure in force.
