Two men from Dartford have been jailed for a total of 18 years for peddling class A drugs.

Kevin Palmer, 44, and Steven Smith, 47, were charged after police found drugs with a street value of more than £250,000 in a Dartford house.

Officers discovered 5kg of cannabis resin, 5kg of herbal cannabis, 1.5kg of cocaine, amphetamines and LSD at the Temple Hill property last August.

Palmer, of Green Street Green Road, and Smith, of Hilltop Gardens, were each jailed for nine years at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday after admitting possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.

Police were alerted to the drugs den, in Hilltop Gardens, after a tip-off from a member of the public.

Det Sgt Karl Thomas, of the North Kent Police drugs team, said: "These men were seriously affecting the life of the local community through supplying illegal drugs.

"We are pleased with the length of the sentences and expect them to serve as a deterrent to those who peddle drugs in our community."

Police also found more than £19,000 cash, which they will try to recover under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
