Pirated-themed Buccaneer Bay in Dartford’s Central Park to be cordoned off for renovation

A popular play area that opened earlier this year will be cordoned off to undergo renovation work.

Buccaneer Bay, in Central Park, Dartford has proved hugely popular since opening in March.

However, part of the busy attraction will be closed from Monday, September 4 for the pathways and sports courts to be given a lick of paint.

The work is scheduled to last three days and has been purposefully timed to tie-in with children going back to school.

A spokesman for Dartford council said: “We’ve scheduled this work to take place at the start of the school year to minimise any disruption.”

As well as the paths around the pirate-themed attraction, the football and basketball courts will also get a makeover.

The park, which covers a two-and-a-half acre site in Central Park, opened in March after a £1.2 million refurbishment.
