The victims discovered three men had entered their property after arriving home at around 8.10pm.

It is believed the offenders had entered through a window.

Two of them came downstairs and forced the victims to the floor, as the third searched upstairs rooms.

After the men had left, the victims realised several rings had been stolen, including an engagement ruby ring which contained two small diamonds on either side.

It is reported that all the suspects were black, around 6ft and slim.

They wore black clothing, with woollen hats, gloves and had balaclavas on.

Investigating officers have carried out house-to-house enquires and forensic analysis of the scene, and it is believed the suspects arrived on foot from Birchwood Road.

Nearby residents who have not yet spoken to police are being urged to check doorbell cameras and CCTV.

Drivers with dashcam who travelled along Birchwood Road, between 8pm and 8.50pm, are also asked to check for footage which may assist the investigation.
