A main route to Bluewater shopping centre was partially blocked following a multi-car pile-up.

The accident happened on the A2 London-bound by the B255 Bean Lane, approaching the Bean Interchange, around 9am.

Traffic had returned to normal by around 10am.

Police spokesman Steve Knight said: "Kent Police was called at 9.06am following a collision involving three vehicles on the A2 London-bound at Southfleet.

"Officers attended to ensure the safety of those involved and other road-users. No injuries were reported."
