Police were called to Swanscombe on Sunday after a body was found in a remote area of woodland.
Investigators attended the area off Craylands Lane at 12.30pm and confirmed a 51-year-old man was found dead.
It is believed he was found hanged by children playing close to Swanscombe Leisure Centre.
A post-mortem examination will take place in the next few days.
A police spokesman said were not treating this death as suspicious.
