Police are investigating what caused a suspicious blaze on the outskirts of Dartford this morning.

The fire at Days Farm in Garden Place, near the A2, began just before 7am.

Two fire engines were called along with police and ambulance crews to reports of black smoke coming from a single-storey home.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a water jet to extinguish the blaze. It was fully out within half an hour.

A fire service spokesman said: "No-one was injured, although the cause is thought to be suspicious and will be investigated by KFRS and Kent Police."
