Police are renewing their appeal for information after a 10-year-old girl died as a result of being hit by a car.
Witnesses are being urged to come forward after the incident in Dartford on Saturday evening.
Officers were called at 6.50pm to Watling Street near the junction with Meadow Way and the girl, who was walking on the street before the incident, was taken to hospital in London with critical injuries.
But police have now confirmed she died last night.
Serious collision investigators are now stepping up their appeal for people who saw the incident or may have important dashcam or video footage to come forward.
A man in his 50s who was driving a yellow Audi S1 was arrested following the incident on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while impaired.
He was released on bail until August 3.
Flowers were laid near the spot where the crash happened and members of the community gathered to pay respects yesterday afternoon.
About 20 people gathered and spoke of their shock at the tragic incident.
One woman, who didn't want to give her name, described the youngster as a "lovely little girl with a heart of gold".
The young girl had been playing with friends in a nearby play park before being hit in the busy street, according to eye witnesses.
Watling Street resident Muna Halim said: "She was playing in the park behind my house.
"I heard some commotion outside, but I didn't realise what had happened. It was really sad."
Another neighbour described hearing a "loud bang" before fire crews and paramedics arrived shortly after.
Investigators are keen to speak to anyone who might be able to help inquiries.
