The Big Tea takes place today, the NHS's birthday, at 3pm. Or supporters can join in whenever it suits them.

The idea is for fundraisers to take five minutes to have a cuppa, donate £5 and then post on social media, tagging five friends.

People are being encouraged to share a selfie raising a cup in thanks to the NHS, using the hashtag #NHSBigTea.

Mark Cullen, community fundraising manager for Valley Hospital Charity, said: "It’s a chance to stop and reflect on a crazy last 15 months, renew old friendships, forge new ones and look to the future with hope and optimism while raising money for your local NHS trust."
