Two North Kent towns will feature in Michael Portillo's Great British Railway Journeys, tonight on BBC Two.
The former Conservative cabinet member turned TV presenter will be seen visiting Dartford and Gravesend as part of his ongoing travelogue series, in which he travels around the country armed with his trusty Bradshaw's Guide - written by 19th cartographer George Bradshaw.
The episode begins with Portillo hitting the West End before heading out to Kent, en route to Rye - first stopping at Dartford where he discovers the origins of netball and gymslips at the North Kent College.
He then heads on to Gravesend, where he is apparently impressed by the pilots of the Port of London Authority, founded in the early 20th century.
The upcoming episode has already sparked excitement on social media.
"Not to be missed!" posted Gravesend Visitor Information Centre on Facebook. "We are extremely delighted that tonight’s edition of Great British Railway Journeys, with Michael Portillo, arrives at Gravesend Railway Station."
Watch the episode at 6.30pm tonight.
