A new 90-bedroom hotel has been proposed for Dartford – but there have already been concerns it may be better suited elsewhere in the town.
The proposal has been put forward by property developers Skillcrown. It includes plans for the hotel and 40 flats on the land formerly occupied by the EC Bate motorbike dealership, which closed in 2019, on West Hill, Dartford.
Councillors yesterday attended a public exhibition for the proposals but said the developers are yet to submit a formal planning application.
Councillor for the ward, Drew Swinerd, said: “They haven’t yet submitted an application yet, so that might turn out to be different to what they have proposed at the exhibition.
“But I am a quite sceptical that a hotel in West Hill is appropriate when the town centre seems like a more obvious location for such a development.”
