Long delays on A2 at Darenth after lorry fire and diesel spill - traffic queuing for two and a half miles

Motorists heading into Kent on the A2 at Darenth are facing lengthy delays after a lorry fire and diesel spill.

Emergency crews were called to the eastbound stretch of the A2 close to the Darenth Interchange.

It is understood three of the four lanes were closed after the lorry caught ablaze and resulting diesel spill.

National Highways is reporting up to two-and-a-half miles of queues and delays of around 30 minutes.

It says its officers and working with fire crews at the scene.

It is not yet known if there have been any injuries.
