Two fire crews were called to a blaze in a kitchen said to be caused by “overheated cooking”.
Firefighters wore breathing apparatus while they tackled the flames at a property in Mount Pleasant Road, Dartford, with a high-pressure hose reel jet.
Afterwards, a positive-pressure ventilation fan was used to clear the smoke away.
One resident was treated at the scene by paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service suffering the effects of smoke inhalation.
The cause is said to have been an accident.
Crews received the 999 call at 5.50pm and were able to leave the scene at 6.35pm.
