Olympic sprinter Adam Gemili has joined the Gogglebox cast.

The athlete from Dartford made his debut on the celebrity version of the Channel 4 hit show on Friday.

He is on the sofa alongside Paralympian Kadeena Cox.

Although Adam is a familiar face to track fans and people in Kent, his first appearance on the programme led to some viewers asking who he was.

One took to Twitter to ask: “Please tell me I’m not the only person who doesn’t have a clue who these two people are?"

The official Gogglebox account tweeted before the show: "Racing to the #CelebrityGogglebox sofa TONIGHT are @kad_c & @adam_gemili with reviews so good they deserve a medal."

As well as giving his views on what's been on TV, Adam, who will be competing in the Tokyo Games this summer, joked during the show about how he is looking forward to putting on weight when he stops training.

He also proved to be no slouch on the couch when it comes to the Countdown numbers game, when he was quick out of the blocks to complete the sum.

Celebrity Gogglebox will be back on our screens on Friday at 9pm.
