Police closed a busy main road in Dartford after a serious collision between a car and a motorbike.

Motorists were told to avoid Shepherds Lane following the incident, which happened at around 4.55pm near the junction with Heather Drive, with police, fire and ambulance crews called to the scene. The air ambulance was also called.

Shepherds Lane was closed for several hours, causing heavy traffic stretching back onto the A2.
