A newborn baby has been abandoned at a hospital in the county.
The infant was found outside the main entrance of Darent Valley Hospital at about 3.15am this morning.
Police say the child is safe, uninjured and being cared for by staff at the site.
Officers are hoping to identify the mother and check on her wellbeing.
Det Supt Gavin Moss said: "It is really important that we locate the mother as we need to ensure she is safe and receives any support she may need.
"I would like to stress that this is about ensuring the mother's wellbeing, there is nothing to fear in coming forward. I would urge her to call us on 999."
He is also encouraging anyone with information to call 999, quoting the reference number 24-0117.
