A BLIND skier has vowed not to give up after his latest bid to raise sponsorship was left in tatters.

Kevin Alderton took his crusade for financial support to London in search of vital backing.

But, as he handed out leaflets at Broadgate Circus on Thursday, the 35-year-old world record holder was approached by three security guards who explained he was not allowed to hand out leaflets without a licence.

Kevin, who lives in Heather Drive, Dartford, said: "I had no idea I needed a licence and I don’t think they realised I was blind."

Kevin, however, remains determined to raise the cash he needs to continue to compete and challenge his own world downhill speed record in April.

A spokesman for The British Land Company, which owns Broadgate Circus, said: "We have no knowledge of this incident and it is not Broadgate Estates' style.

"There should have been no problem accommodating a request from Kevin and we are very happy to meet him to see how we can assist with his venture and to help us investigate the incident further."
