Several injured after bus crash outside Darent Valley Hospital

A bus and a car have crashed outside a Dartford hospital, leaving several people injured.

Details of those hurt in the crash vary between the emergency services who rushed to the scene, but it is believed up to 10 people were hurt.

One of them was the 39-year-old driver of the Fastrack bus involved in the collision at the junction of Darenth Wood Road and St James Lane, near Darent Valley Hospital, at about 2pm yesterday (Tuesday).

A spokesman for Arriva, which runs the service, said seven of its passengers were also hurt.

The 21-year-old man who was driving the silver Vauxhall Astra involved in the crash suffered a suspected shoulder injury, while a 20-year-old woman, who was in the passenger seat, was treated for minor injuries.

None of those hurt suffered serious injuries.

Police are appealing for information following the crash. Officers closed Watling Street between Bean Lane and St James Lane until about 4.30pm.
