Gravesend prankster Daniel Jarvis halts recording of Question Time in Dartford with ‘sex noises’

A recording of Question Time in Kent yesterday evening was halted three times after ‘sex noises’ were heard inside the venue.

The programme was being recorded in Dartford ahead of its broadcast on BBC1 yesterday night (March 27).

Hosted by Fiona Bruce, its panel included MPs Darren Jones, Richard Holden and Daisy Cooper alongside Daily Telegraph journalist Camilla Tominey.

According to witnesses, the recording was disrupted three times after ‘sex noises’ were heard coming from a phone.

It was reminiscent of an incident in January 2023 when Gravesend prankster Daniel Jarvis broadcast pornographic noises during a live broadcast of an FA Cup match between Wolves and Liverpool.

The show was hosted by Gary Lineker, who later revealed a mobile phone had been found taped to the back of a chair.

Now, the same self-proclaimed prankster has admitted to being behind the stunt at yesterday’s Question Time recording.

On X, Dan wrote: “Was someone having sex in the question time studio today?

“P.S I don’t suppose any of you found a phone in there? I lost it in the studio.”

The serial joker, known as Jarvo online, often shares videos and streams of his pranks on his social media page.

Last year he snuck into the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics after posing as a member of Team GB and even snapped a selfie with the French President.

Details of yesterday’s incident were first revealed by BBC political editor Michael Keohan, who posted on X: “I'm reliably informed Question Time being filmed in Darford had to be stopped 3 times during filming tonight as sex noises and porn could be heard from a phone.”

The news was confirmed in a further post from Dartford Living magazine, which had a member of its team at the recording.

The post said: “A member of our team was there and can confirm porn / sex sounds coming from a hidden phone three times during filming.”

Despite the disruption, the show was broadcast as planned.

The BBC has been approached for comment.
