Bluewater shoppers warned as A2 westbound exit at Bean closed after crash

Christmas shoppers heading to Bluewater were told to expect delays while a busy sliproad was shut following a crash.

The A2 westbound exit at Bean in Dartford was closed for more than seven hours.

National Highways posted a message on X at 5.43am, advising those heading to Bluewater that a diversion route was in place.

It said: “This follows a collision which resulted in significant barrier damage.

“Continue to the M25 and return eastbound to exit at Bean.”

The accident happened at about 1am. It has not yet been confirmed how many vehicles were involved or if there were any injuries.

Crews were at the scene this morning to complete emergency repairs and to clear the road.

At 8.52am, National Highways posted an update saying it has now reopened.

Police have been contacted for more information.
