Six people were arrested and seven vehicles seized following a successful multi-agency operation at Dartford docks.

Three were arrested for drugs, theft and driving offences and have been bailed.

Another three were arrested for immigration offences and are being dealt with by the Borders and Immigration Agency.

Police officers using ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) cameras monitored Crossways Boulevard and stopped 82 vehicles.Seven vehicles were seized for no insurance.

PC Adrian Parsons the Drugs Liaison officer for North Kent who coordinated the operation said: “This is the second successful multi-agency road check operation we have run in this area of Dartford and the results that Kent Police and our partners have seen have been excellent.

“The ANPR technology allows us to target criminals and minimise disruption to law-abiding motorists. Given the success of these operation, we plan to mount further similar initiatives in other areas of North Kent over the coming months.”

Seventy four Kent Police officers and 37 representatives from organisations including the DVLA, the Department of Work and Pensions, and Border and Immigration Agency were involved in this planned operation.
