Charlton’s promotion hopes suffered a setback when they were beaten by a solitary goal against Southampton in League 1.
A 34th minute strike from Michail Antonio was all that separated the sides at St Mary’s.
Antonio latched on to a flick from Jason Puncheon and fired the ball into the top right corner of the net.
Nicky Bailey (pictured) was denied by Saints keeper Kelvin Davis on three separate occasions.
Davis produced good saves to keep out Bailey headers either side of the decisive goal, before saving a powerful drive in the second half.
Second-place Swindon were beaten but with Millwall and Leeds winning the defeat means Charlton lost ground in the battle for the second promotion place.
