Pop star Gareth Gates is set to headline this summer's Dartford Festival.

The 26-year-old gained star status in 2002 when he finished second in the first ITV Pop Idol competition, which also made a star out of the series winner, Will Young.

He will headline the festival which takes place in Central Park over the weekend of July 16 and 17.

This year's event will mark the 75th anniversary of the festival.
