Stone Lodge Ladies celebrated their first victory in the Vivienne Trophy at the English Indoor Bowling Association National Championships in Northampton on Saturday.
They beat defending champions Lincoln 86-71, their second appearance in the final, after finishing runners-up in 1998.
Stone Lodge led by seven shots after five ends and increased their advantage to 15 by the 10th.
Lincoln reduced the deficit to nine, five ends later, with only one match left to play, Stone Lodge leading by 16 shots with two ends remaining.
Margaret Oram’s rink successfully defended the advantage, dropping only one shot on the 20th end, as Lincoln conceded the match.
Ladies captain Jenny Brain said she was "proud and honoured" to lead the team to victory.
