Strictly Come Dancing contestant HRVY has tested positive for coronavirus just over two weeks away from the launch of the live shows.
The singer and Youtube star, real name Harvey Cantwell, from Hartley , is one of the 12 contestants on this year’s line-up but must now isolate.
He confirmed the positive test for Covid-19 on social media last night.
The 21-year-old said: “Hi, so I wasn’t gonna say anything because I didn't want to worry anybody but now the story's out there, I have Coronavirus, I have tested positive.
"All is fine, I'm isolating. I have no symptoms luckily, so I'm just chilling, I'm bored, I've been making millions of TikToks.
“It just proves that us youngsters can get it and not even realise,” he told his 4.5 million followers. “I’m going to be in this bedroom for a while so I’ll see you guys on the other side.”
It was confirmed on Thursday that Strictly is set to return to our screens on October 17 with a pre-recorded launch show.
The live shows will then start from October 24.
A spokesman for the BBC said: “We can confirm that a member of the Strictly team has tested positive for coronavirus and they are now self-isolating at home following the latest government guidelines.
"We have rigorous protocols in place to manage Covid-19 as the safety of all those involved in the production is paramount.”
All contestants are being tested for Covid-19 twice a week, in line with government protocols.
The Dartford -born singer, whose debut album is due for release next month, will need to be rid of the infection ahead of his pairing with his professional dance partner on October 12 and the launch show five days later.
From that point onwards all contestants who test positive will be automatically axed, producers for the hit BBC show have confirmed.
HRVY joins Caroline Quentin, Jason Bell, Max George, Ranvir Singh, Clara Amfo, Nicola Adams, Bill Bailey, JJ Chalmers, Jamie Laing and Maisie Smith in completing this year's Strictly line-up.
