A new market will take place in Swanley as part of a trial.
Sevenoaks council has agreed to trial a new Sunday market in the High Street, by Swanley Square, in the coming weeks.
The six-month trial will see a broad mix of traders, including those selling local food and drink, farmers’ market produce and traditional market goods.
An existing Wednesday market is run on the council's behalf by Bray Associates who will be taking on the responsibility for the new trial.
The decision was made at a cabinet meeting held last week but a start date has not yet been confirmed.
Cabinet member for cleaner and greener, Cllr Margot McArthur, said: “The market in Swanley has always been hugely popular with residents and visitors alike so we are delighted to give a Sunday market a trial.
“A new Sunday market will bring a lot of new business into the town, benefitting many other shops and businesses.
"As the market becomes more established, we hope to include more local traders, craft producers and opportunities for young entrepreneurial traders too.”
