Swanscombe's Royal Mail delivery office is set to close leaving people with a five mile trek to pick up their mail.

From January 30, residents will have to travel just under five miles to the delivery centre in West Hill, Dartford.

Until now people could pick up their undelivered parcels from the office in Swanscombe High Street.

Longfield delivery office is also due to close and move to the centre in March 2013.

It comes as the sorting section at Dartford is due to move to a new centre in Knight Road, Rochester.
