A YOUNG father hanged himself after telling his partner it would be her fault if he died.
Unemployed Mark Chadwick, 18, who had two small children, aged two and 11 months, with his partner Hayley Lavin, was found hanged at their home in Tennyson Road, Dartford, that same day.
Det Sgt Sam Hudson-Good told an inquest on Tuesday that the couple had a “volatile” relationship. He added that a suicide note had been recovered.
Miss Lavin acknowledged at the hearing, at Gravesend, that there had been problems between her and Mr Chadwick. She said they had argued on the day he died, on May 15, and he had told her: “When I’m dead it will be your fault.”
Mr Chadwick’s friend, Damien Pavey, told the hearing in a statement that he and friends discovered Mr Chadwick’s body when they went to the house.
They found the door barricaded, broke in and found Mr Chadwick suspended from a door frame with a noose made from bin liners.
Miss Lavin was not in the house.
Mr Pavey said that Mr Chadwick had tried to hang himself before.
Coroner Roger Hatch concluded that Mr Chadwick had taken his own life.
