A man has been arrested following an incident which saw a teenage girl raped in a train toilet.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the attack on-board a rail service travelling towards Kent.

The incident took place between Eltham and Dartford shortly after 2.30pm on Friday, May 20.

Officers launched an investigation after a 17-year-old girl was reportedly raped inside of the train's toilet cubicles.

A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection and released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Officers are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone with information to assist their investigation.
