Dartford boss Tony Burman said his side’s preparations for the new season have been given a ‘major boost’ by the capture of midfielder Jon Wallis from rivals Dover.
Burman (pictured) says he is thrilled with the progress the Darts have made since the Blue Square Bet South season ended last month, with a series of testing pre-season fixtures arranged and a host of players agreeing to return to Princes Park.
Matt Jones has re-signed for the Darts who have completed the capture of 25-year-old Wallis. He was offered terms to stay at Crabble this summer but has opted to leave after five years.
Burman said: "We kept the players that we thought would take us forward next season. All those have been sorted out last week and we also managed to sign Jon Wallis, which is a major boost.
"He has had a good five years at Dover and is an excellent player and I hope he can have another good five years here at Dartford.
"Jon was on the list of players we had drawn up and we were delighted to get him. We still have the list and we are still talking to players.
"The fact that so many have signed already means we don’t have to rush into making any decisions.
"Players are keeping their options open, I understand that, but we can bide our time."
